As a result of the College reorganisation undertaken by UKZN, a new college model was formed. This gave birth to the new School of Religion, Philosophy and Classics in the College of Humanities.
The School is under the leadership of the Acting Dean/ Head of School: Professor Simangaliso Kumalo and boasts over 65 members of staff who are committed to excellence in terms of teaching, research and community engagement. This reconfiguration presents us with a unique opportunity to develop new academic programmes which will foster a multidisciplinary approach to teaching. The School operates on both the Howard College and Pietermaritzburg campuses.
The School is supported by a vibrant and efficient Professional Services team managed by Mr Calvin Thomas. The Professional Services team aims to provide an efficient and effective service to all clients.
